Tattoo Aftercare

Your new tattoo is an open wound,

treat it with care

  • Keep the dressing on for a few hours. After removing it, gently wash your tattoo with unscented, antibacterial soap.

  • Wash your tattoo 2-3 times a day. Air dry or use a clean paper towel, refrain from using terry cloth.

  • Put a thin layer of aquaphor on your tattoo, only as much as your body will absorb. Putting too much aquaphor on will prevent your tattoo from breathing and healing well. After a week, you are welcome to switch to an unscented lotion.

  • It is not advised to re-wrap your tattoo

  • Do not pick or scratch your tattoo.

  • Keep away from submerging yourself for two weeks, which includes hot tubs, bath tubs, swimming, etc. Showers are recommended.

  • Keep your tattoo out of the sun, and only use sunblock after your tattoo has fully healed. After healing, consider using sunblock daily to make your tattoo last well throughout your lifetime.
